VISION
For my mood board, I added images representing my vision for this collection. I have always loved greek history and have been fascinated by their art, beliefs, and society. I wanted to create something a woman could wear for different occasions while feeling beautiful and chic. I decided to add neutral colors which different skin tones can wear. I wanted to implement a more relaxed fit that different body types could wear. Finally, I wanted to add line art, sketched figures of humans, to represent the delicacy and strength of the human body.
The flat tech sketches were designed on Pro-create. I then added the specifications and essential details with Illustrator. I wanted to see how they would look and if they genuinely matched my vision. I found the perfect cotton poplin fabrics that match my designs completely. The fit is for different occasions but still keeps a classy style. I wanted to incorporate the straps from the mood board dress and the big dot from the lady with the skirt. Overall, the collection is harmonious.

PROCESS
I draped all the dresses and the top of the 4th look. For the pants, I decided to buy a pattern from Vogue. I started sewing the body of the dresses first to have fittings and then designed all the sleeves. I chose the same sleeve design for designs #2 and #4—some of the complications I encountered while in the process were that the pants were too loose. I had to adjust them twice at the side seams. I hand-sewn all the sleeve lining hem unto the outer dress, which took around 5 hours. I had to change the pattern twice for the hems of dresses #2 and #3 because they were either too long on the sides or insufficient. I enjoyed designing these and making them look professional.

Look 1
The Greeks believed the human body was powerful and that it showed strength. They portrayed it in all sorts of art, like sculpture, paintings, pottery, etc. I designed this look with the idea of the greeks in a modern approach.

Look 2
It expresses the delicacy and strength the hands possess to create art.

Look 3
I attended the National Art School in Guatemala. There, I had a great class called "human illustration." We had to sketch a pose from the model standing between us for 5, 10, or 30 seconds. That memory of mine inspired this look.
Look 4
I wanted to create an empowered woman look with wide-leg dress pants and a formal top with line art of a woman's face to express the rare beauty a woman possesses.
